Nothing Quilts like a Deere!!!

I started this quilt about 5 days ago, and with little sleep and A LOT determination and excitement, I completed it this morning. You see...Chip's holiday company party is this Saturday, and this year they are doing a silent and live auction to raise money for a co-worker whose little boy is not in the best of health. They asked employees, family, friends, and businesses to donate. So, I made a John Deere Quilt. (Chip has made a John Deere Cribbage board...once it's completed, I will post the pictures.) Quilting is a huge addiction once you start. For me, this quilt was not copied from anyone else's pattern. I pictured it as I went, did a little blue print to know the final dimensions, and it was done!! I'm so proud of this one. I learned how to correctly "bind" a quilt with this one. It was easier than I thought!! Maybe we'll buy it back!! hee hee.

Thank you mom for hold up the quilt!

Thank you!! I'm slowly getting a little more brave to go outside my comfort zone and try something different! There is a lot to it, but a great hobby!! =)

GREAT JOB! And a great cause. I heard your quilt was sold for a fairly high dollar. I just started quilting, so I love looking at other quilts to inspire me to keep going with the hobby.

Thanks Tiff! It did...and the family of the boy received it from his brother. So that sent chills down my spine! Quilting is so fun! Addicting and most of all, expensive..my goodness! Right now if I do it...it's for a reason/someone...so that gives me and excuse, right!? =)
