I suppose I had better update our blog a little on all the crazy happenings since November. Sorry for the delay, but life has been a little hectic for us. First off

Christmas definitely snuck up on us this year. We were excited to be in our first home and hosting Christmas dinner this year! Christmas Eve, Chip joined his family in Othello and celebrated for a few hours. I had to stay home as I was trying to finish up a quilt I was making for a friend as a Christmas present to her husband. (Very proud of the way it turned out, too!!) Eve evening, we went over to the Smith house and had pizza and played cards till midnight, just to come home and crash! Christmas day, Chip and I got the house all cleaned up and prepared the Prime Rib for dinner. Dad & Mom Smith, Brad, Clint, and DeAnne joined us, and later had a visit from Joe & Jane as they passed through. Another round of Hand & Foot (card game) was played, yet again, till midnight, and we crashed hard again!

Saturday, I had to end up working. Chip also went down to work to organize some files and take down the Christmas Tree. Taking advantage of our nights with all the days off, we had Clint, DeAnne, Eric, & Lori over to play more Hand & Foot, which is always an interesting game when it's Husbands vs. Wives!
A wonderful tid bit I haven't posted yet (because I've been wanting to get a picture and haven't been able to do so, yet) is to say Congratulations to my husband. He applied for the Shop Foreman (Ag Service Advisor) position at RDO earlier in the Fall and had been selected to take the position. He has been in since October and is loving every minute of it. He had trouble making the decision cause he loved being in his truck so much, but after weighing the pros and cons, he realized he had been wasting his education, he knew it was right. I have to say, it is harder getting a hold of him on the phone. He either has 100 emails flying in all directions, his phone going off, or people standing near his desk needing his attention. It has been a blessing for Chip to do this. I, and other people have said they've definitely seen a change in him...for the good. He's had to take on a lot more responsibility, and he has grown up more to assume that role! SO proud of him!!!
As for Wee Bug. She has been doing okay. Her kidney levels keep fluctuating and she goes every week for SubQ fluids to help flush out the toxins. We have another blood test this week to see if they have helped. Praying to the good Lord, they have. A sad incident occurred just this last Wednesday. I had let Wee and Abby out the back door for a potty break. The back neighbor dogs are ALWAYS barking the minute we unlock our backdoor, and as the back neighbor dogs heard that, they are in an attack mode....trying to come through the fence, barking, pawing. It's ugly! They have pushed so hard and so many times against that fence, that they managed to break it. Unfortunately, that instant I let our dogs out, they were wanting to defend our property, and poor Wee Bug got the worst of it. The pit bull on the other side had grabbed ahold of my dogs nose and had her pinned up to the fence for a minute or two. I wasn't aware of it until I went back out and heard my dog yelping and trying to get away. The pit bull pierced a hole through her lip and did a little damage around and inside her mouth. It makes me ill to think about the pain she had endured and is still having to deal with! So, the past few days have been very sleepless and medicating times! Every two to three hours she has to have some kind of pills...kidney, bladder, antibiotic, pain reliever, stomach coater, eye drops, iron. She's definitely showing her age, but she is still a happy dog. This morning she looked better and is barking and wagging her tail again; so all that pain must be subsiding.

I think that is enough news for now. Will try to post on here more this new coming year and hopefully have more good news to post! God Bless!!
